Background

#LiberalArtsWorks is an extensive campaign that I created for the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. The overall goal was to have a new way to get current and prospective students excited about their liberal arts degree. My solution was to feature past alumni and show what degree they received and what professional work that degree lead them to.

This campaign quickly became a part of the brand for the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. Students and parents now receive shirts with the “Liberal Arts Works” slogan on them during move-in day and each event that the school hosts or participates in features keychains, pens, buttons, tote bags, sunglasses and other fun accessories with the slogan. Even the canopy used at outdoor events has the slogan included so it can be easily recognized from afar! This project began in 2016 and is still being used today.

Design

The content created for each featured alumni includes: posters, banners, digital advertisements, email ads, flyers, social media posts, and digital signs displayed around campus. After the Office of External Affairs realized the success of the campaign, we decided to create a permanent installation in the main skywalk on campus that features eight of the #LiberalArtsWorks alumni.

I also worked on refreshing the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI’s degrees and majors brochures to better match the new visual styles that were created as part of this campaign. I created a style that could easily be adapted for different types of content and allowed for flexible design while still remaining consistent.
